Traffic through Ukrainian-Romanian checkpoint temporarily limited

Vehicle traffic through the Solotvyno-Sighetu Marmației checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Romanian border will be temporarily restricted due to infrastructure work on the bridge over the Tysa River, Ukraine’s State Customs Service reported on June 5.
From June 8 to June 17, 2026, vehicle traffic through the checkpoint will be temporarily suspended every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Romanian side will carry out infrastructure repairs on the historic bridge over the Tysa River.
The pedestrian crossing will continue operating as usual, the customs service said.
Drivers are advised to choose alternative border crossing routes in advance to avoid queues and delays.
Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service said on April 15 that restrictions at the Solotvyno-Sighetu Marmației checkpoint had been extended for another month due to repairs on the bridge over the Tysa River.
The press service of the Zakarpattia Oblast Military Administration reported on Jan. 29 that flooding in Zakarpattia Oblast had undermined a gas pipeline support on the Tysa River near the village of Hetynia in Berehove district. The structure tilted significantly, threatening to disrupt gas supplies to nearly 5,800 customers.
Ukraine’s Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service reported on Feb. 16 that temporary vehicle traffic restrictions were being introduced at the Solotvyno-Sighetu Marmației checkpoint because of reconstruction work on the bridge over the Tysa River.
