Truck crashes off South Bridge in Kyiv
A Volvo truck fell off a bridge in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, the driver was swiftly rescued, State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) Main Department reported on Jan. 2.
The accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. on the exit ramp of the South Bridge.
Preliminary information suggests the driver felt bad while driving, lost control of the vehicle, and overturned off the bridge.
Rescuers freed the truck driver and handed him over to medical personnel. The man declined hospitalization.
Nine rescuers and two units of primary and specialized firefighting equipment responded to the scene.
Law enforcement is investigating the cause of the accident.
