The Ukrainian defense of Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, is under increasingly severe pressure, with intense fighting taking place and the destruction of two key bridges, the UK Ministry of Defense said on March 4.

The bridges in Bakhmut, including a vital bridge linking the city to the town of Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut’s last major supply, were destroyed over the past 36 hours.

Wagner PMC and regular Russian army forces continue to make incremental advances on the northern outskirts of town, still controlled by Ukraine but vulnerable to Russian attacks on three sides.

Intelligence sources claim that Ukraine is reinforcing the area with elite units.

British intelligence emphasizes that Ukraine-held resupply routes out of the town are becoming increasingly limited.
