Third Army Corps forms assault robot company - video
The Third Army Corps has officially created a company of assault ground robotic systems (NC13), marking a historic shift in warfare tactics, the military wrote on Sept. 2.
These robotic systems have already been used in evacuation missions and ammunition delivery. Now, they’re entering the battlefield for real combat.
“Our brigade’s GRS [Ground Robotic Systems] have already stormed positions, planted mines, and even captured enemy troops. We’ve combined the best field experience with modern tech — to protect our people,” the military wrote.
The Corps also published a video showcasing these robotic platforms in action.
“The time has come to send robots into battle. They will storm, defend, and demolish enemy fortifications on a massive scale. But robots are just tools. The real hero of this story — is you. Be part of this new era. Write your name into the history of the robot war,” the video says.
Battlefield debut of combat robots
On July 9, the Third Assault Brigade had carried out an unprecedented mission in Kharkiv Oblast: no infantry, no losses, and 100% efficiency — thanks entirely to drones and ground robotic systems.
On July 16, in an interview with Radio NV, the commander of the GRS platoon in the UAV company of the 2nd Assault Battalion (Third Separate Assault Brigade), call sign Makar, stated that these ground robots could begin carrying out storm missions within the year.
Ukrainian Army restructuring
On Aug. 12, Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Zhorin emphasized the advantages of Ukraine's transition from a brigade-based to a corps-level command system.
This restructuring, now underway in the Third Army Corps, allows for greater operational flexibility — including faster decisions on unit rotations, reinforcements, and supplies — across a 150-kilometer front line.
