Russia launches overnight drone swarm on Ukraine; air defenses down 75 UAVs — Air Force

Russian forces launched 112 attack drones at Ukraine, including Iranian-made Shahed drones and decoy UAVs, 75 were neutralized, the Air Force reported on June 3.

The drones were launched from multiple directions, including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chauda in Russian-occupied Crimea.

The main targets were Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa, and Donetsk oblasts.

"As of 9:00 a.m., air defense forces have downed 75 enemy UAVs, including Shahed-type drones and others," the Air Force reported.

"60 were destroyed by firepower, and 15 were jammed or lost location due to electronic warfare systems."

Russia’s airstrike resulted in confirmed drone hits in 11 locations across Ukraine.

In Odesa, four civilians were injured. Fires broke out in multiple locations, including food storage facilities, garages, and residential homes, and two cars were destroyed.

In Chernihiv, 20 people were injured, including eight children, as drone strikes hit residential areas.

Earlier that night, air raid sirens sounded in several oblasts. Explosions were heard in Odesa, Poltava, and Chernihiv.
