Ukraine, Netherlands hold third round of security guarantee talks
Ukrainian officials held a third round of
negotiations on a bilateral security
agreement with the Netherlands, the President’s Office announced on Feb. 5.
The Dutch delegation visited Kyiv to conduct the talks in person.
During the negotiations, both parties discussed a revised draft of the security agreement and coordinated positions on certain elements of the document, the announcement said.
With substantial progress being made, a schedule for moving towards finalizing the agreement was agreed upon, Kyiv said.
On Jan. 13, Ukrainian PM Denys Shmyhal stated that Ukraine is negotiating with several partners to sign agreements on security guarantees and military cooperation.
On Jan. 15, it was announced that Canada had also submitted a draft security agreement to Ukraine.
On Jan. 17, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country was finalizing a security guarantee agreement with Ukraine.
On Feb. 3, German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported that Ukraine might sign a security agreement with Germany in February, with the document already being drafted.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
