Ukraine and several partner countries signed a memorandum creating a multinational coalition for defense procurement called CORPUS (Coalition for Resilient Procurement and Unified Support), the Defense Ministry announced on April 30.

The coalition includes the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) of the Defense Ministry and similar bodies from Finland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Other partner countries may join by signing the memorandum and securing the unanimous backing of the board of directors, the ministry said.

CORPUS is intended to strengthen the defense capabilities of Ukraine and its partners. The coalition will bring procurement agencies together to improve coordination, increase the resilience of supply systems, and expand cooperation amid changing security conditions, the statement added.

Artem Romanyukov, a senior Defense Ministry official, said member countries will be able to better plan purchases, build reliable supply chains, identify weak links, and share expertise.

“Supply systems today operate amid rapid change and shared threats, which requires closer coordination among countries,” said DPA head Arsen Zhumadilov.

“We already cooperate with partners at a practical level, and CORPUS is the next step in developing that cooperation.”
