Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wanted to show U.S. leader Donald Trump an iPad that tracks the battlefield situation in real time at the Munich Security Conference, Financial Times journalist Christopher Miller wrote on March 17.
"I honestly wanted to gift it to Trump... in Munich," Miller quoted the Ukrainian president.
"Why? Because on my iPad, I can instantly see what attacks are happening — drones, missiles, etc. — what we are intercepting in real time, and also how much one kilometer of our land costs at any given moment. How much one kilometer of occupied land costs the Russian soldiers."
However, Trump did not attend the conference in Munich, so it was impossible to demonstrate the tablet.
Zelenskyy stated during an address to the UK Parliament on March 17 that he and the Ukrainian military command have iPads allowing them to track the battlefield situation in real time. He gifted a similar device to King Charles III of the United Kingdom.
The head of state called this iPad "proof that the development of security systems can happen faster and cost less than old defense systems." The president said the device has software allowing the Ukrainian leadership to control the security situation on the ground.
These iPads are held not only by him but also by the prime minister, the defense minister, and the top military command. Zelenskyy noted that through this device, one can get complete information about what is happening on the ground in Ukraine, as well as on the front line. In particular, this iPad provides full control over movements along the front. All changes are tracked and fully verified over any period, not just partially, Zelenskyy said.
In addition, he showed the mass Russian attack on the night of March 14 on the iPad. Russia used nearly 500 air attack weapons then.
