Ukraine may develop independent arms production if denied Western support - Polish General
Should West fail to provide Ukraine with sufficient weapons and allow to use it inside Russia, Ukraine will establish its own robust military production capabilities, former Polish Armed Forces Commander, Raimund Andrzejczak told NV on Nov. 19.
His statement echoes recent discussions around Western countries allowing or giving limited permission to Ukraine to strike Russian military objects on its territory.
"Western partners must understand that if we don't provide weapons or permissions, Ukraine will eventually develop its own arsenal, and no one will be able to control the situation," Andrzejczak said.
"My advice to the big players: help Ukraine and give them what they need. Look at Israel—who controls what they do? Why should Ukraine be treated differently?"
Long-range missiles for Ukraine
On Nov. 17, The New York Times reported that U.S. President Joe Biden approved the use of ATACMS missiles for strikes deep into Russian territory. Russian and North Korean forces in Kursk Oblast are expected to become the initial targets.
Additionally, Reuters suggested that Ukraine might conduct its first long-range attacks in the coming days.
While Le Figaro initially reported that the UK and France approved the use of SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles for strikes on Russian soil, this information was later removed from their publication.
On Nov. 18, Axios reported that the U.S. granted Ukraine permission to use long-range weapons specifically in areas of Kursk hosting North Korean troops.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
