Ukraine has not received any official notification about a pause or revision of previously agreed U.S. military aid deliveries and is currently clarifying the situation, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said in a statement on July 2.

The announcement came in response to a White House statement on halting certain weapons transfers to Kyiv.

The ministry said the current circumstances surrounding U.S. weapons deliveries are being clarified. It has requested a phone call with U.S. counterparts to discuss the details and said the outcome would be shared once available.

“Ukraine has not received any official notifications regarding a halt or revision of the delivery schedules for agreed defense aid, so we are proceeding based on factual data and checking the status of each delivery item,” the statement read.

The Defense Ministry emphasized that individuals making public comments about weapons transfers to Ukraine may not have access to complete information.

The agency also stressed that Ukraine considers uninterrupted delivery of agreed assistance essential and thanked the United States for its continued support.

On July 1, Politico reported that the Pentagon had temporarily halted deliveries of certain air defense missiles and other precision munitions to Ukraine due to concerns about drawing down U.S. stockpiles too sharply. According to the outlet, the decision was made in early June but only recently went into effect.

Later, White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly confirmed the decision to pause some arms transfers to Ukraine following a Defense Department review of aid and discussions with international partners.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
