Ukrainian Army repels several enemy attacks in past day, says General Staff

Ukraine’s army repelled several enemy attacks over the past day, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff said in its morning update on Oct. 7.
In particular, enemy attacks were fought off near the settlements of Vyimka, Krasne, Bakhmut, Mayorsk, Vesele, Pobyeda, Nevelske, Kamianka, and Ternovi Pody in Donetsk Oblast.
The Ukrainian Air Force carried out 23 air strikes over the past 24 hours. It has been confirmed that an enemy stronghold, 15 enemy storage locations of weapons and military equipment, and seven hostile air defense systems were struck, the General Staff said.
In addition, Ukrainian air defence units shot down more than 20 enemy UAVs in various areas, including five Orlan-10s, 15 Shahed-136s, and one Mohajer-6.
Ukrainian missiles and artillery units also struck five clusters of troops, weaponry and military equipment, five air defense positions, two artillery pieces, an ammunition depot, and a river crossing over the past day.
According to the General Staff, the Russian invaders launched eight rocket and 15 air strikes over the past day, as well as carrying out more than 70 attacks with the use of multiple launch rocket systems. Three X-22 cruise missiles of the enemy did not reach their targets, it said.
Buildings were damaged by enemy fire in more than 25 settlements, such as Novomykhailivka, Zaliznychne, Spirne, Davydiv Brid, Blahodativka, and Myrne. The Russians also launched strikes at Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolayiv, and Nikopol.
Invading Russian forces also fired in the following areas: rocket artillery:
- in the Siversky area, they used artillery near Boyaro-Lezhachi, Mezenivka and Ryzhivka in Sumy Oblast;
- in the Slobozhanske area, the enemy fired using tanks, mortars and rockets near Dvorichne, Zarubivka, Vovchansk, Hatyshche;
- in the Kramatorsk area, the invaders fired from artillery of various types near Spirne, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Serebrianka, and Rozdolivka;
- in the Bakhmut area, the enemy attacked areas near Soledar, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka, Opytne, Zaitseve, and New York;
- in the Avdiyivka area, the territories around Maryinka, Shakhtarske, Vodiane, and Novomykhailivka were shelled using tanks, mortars, artillery and rockets.
- in Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhzhya areas, the infrastructure near Novoukrayinka, Novodanylivka, Chervone, Novosilka, Poltavka, and Mali Shcherbaky was damaged by enemy shelling.
- in the South Buh area, more than 25 settlements along the whole of the southern part of the front line were hit by enemy fire.
