Ukraine confirms drone hit on MiG fighter jet plant near Moscow
Lukhovitsy Aircraft Plant — specializes in the production and modernization of MiG-29, MiG-31 fighters and others — was struck in a drone attack on Russia's Moscow Oblast, Center for Countering Disinformation head Andrii Kovalenko wrote on July 11.
He said the facility is also involved in the development of next-generation combat aircraft, including a “prospective front-line fighter” based on the MiG platform.
In addition, the plant is involved in the modification and upgrade cycle for Geran/Shahed-type drones.
Earlier reports wrote that multiple Russian oblasts were hit by a wave of drone attacks on July 11, with explosions in the towns of Lukhovitsy and Dubna in the Moscow Oblast. In Dubna, the Kronstadt defense enterprise, which manufactures UAVs, was also targeted.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
