Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed successful strikes at the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara Oblast and at the command center in the temporarily occupied city of Yenakiieve in Donetsk Oblast in its Aug. 15 Telegram post.

The strike on one of Rosneft’s largest oil refineries caused explosions and a fire. It was previously targeted in February and March 2025.

The plant has an annual processing capacity of 8.9 million tons of oil and produces various types of fuel, aviation kerosene, and bitumen for Russian forces.

That same night, drones targeted the command post of the 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian 51st Army in occupied Yenakiieve.

Several loud explosions broke out at the site of the attack, causing a large fire.

The attack was carried out by Special Operations Forces (SOF) units in coordination with other Ukrainian Armed Forces components.

Earlier, eyewitnesses posted photos and videos of the strikes on the city, followed by fire and secondary detonations.
