Russia launches nearly 100 drones at Ukraine as Easter truce ends

Russian army has attacked Ukraine with 98 strike drones since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian Air Force Command reported on April 13.
Drones of various types were launched from Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as Gvardiyske in the Crimea.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups repelled the attack.
Air defense forces shot down or suppressed 87 Russian Shahed, Gerbera, Italmaz, and other UAV types in the north and east of the country by 8 a.m., preliminary data indicated.
Hits by nine strike UAVs were recorded at nine locations, along with falling debris from downed targets in one location.
Russian drones remain in Ukraine's airspace, the military added, urging citizens to observe safety rules.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure in all oblasts of Ukraine with various types of weapons — strike UAVs, missiles, guided aerial bombs (KABs), and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones almost immediately after the end of the "Easter truce" declared by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on the night of April 13. An air raid alert was declared in several oblasts.
