Ukrainian military successfully deploys US high-accuracy Copperhead shells - video
Ukraine's 47th Mechanized Brigade successfully deployed US-made Copperhead shells for the first time in combat, Defense Ministry wrote on X on Feb. 15.
The M712 Copperhead is a laser-guided, 155mm artillery shell developed during the Cold War. Its high precision allows for direct hits on enemy positions, even in heavily fortified areas.
As of 1995, the U.S. military had an estimated stockpile of 20,000 Copperhead shells, though mass production has since ceased.
"The 155mm M712 Copperhead shell, equipped with laser guidance, ensures 'uncompromising accuracy' in striking enemy targets," Ukrainian officials wrote.
"The shell is also resistant to electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures. There is no escape for the enemy."

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
