Ukrainian troops take part in Moldova’s 35th independence anniversary parade

Moldova
celebrated the 35th anniversary of its independence with a parade in Chisinau that
included Ukrainian troops, Suspilne public broadcaster reported on Aug. 27.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan,
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, and other government officials watched the soldiers
pass through the central square of the capital.
In addition to Moldovan troops, military units and honor guards from eight partner countries participated: Ukraine, Romania, Lithuania, Italy, Poland, France, Czechia, and the United States.
More than 100 pieces of military equipment were displayed,
including self-propelled artillery, air defense systems, and other specialized
vehicles. Moldova purchased some of the equipment over the past year with
financial support from the European Union.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was in Chisinau for
the celebrations. In the evening, Sandu, Zelenskyy, and Romanian President
Nicusor Dan held a public meeting with citizens in Chisinau’s central square.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
