Ukraine prepares mass long-range drone operations deep in Russia

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov has announced a surge in the intensity of drone strikes on military targets inside Russia at a meeting with journalists on June 26, Interfax-Ukraine reported on June 27.

Ukraine is preparing to contract tens of thousands of additional long-range drones to significantly ramp up attacks on Russia’s war machine.

Umerov disclosed that a decision had been made about two weeks ago to increase the number of these operations severalfold.

Last year, Ukraine developed a strategic plan for systematic long-range strikes. These deep-into-Russia attacks are being carried out by long-range UAVs, which are delivered daily according to an established schedule, Umerov added.

On June 22, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi noted that Ukraine now possesses more FPV drones than Russia.

However, he warned that Russia has made gains in producing fiber-optic drones and now holds a technological edge in that area.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
