Japan is expected to roll out plans at the “appropriate time” to support Ukraine against Russia’s invasion, the Japan Today media outlet quoted White House Indo-Pacific coordinator Kurt Campbell as saying on Jan. 17.

“(Japanese) Prime Minister (Fumio) Kishida has a game plan and is already engaged deeply on issues in Ukraine,” Campbell said at a Center for Strategic and International Studies event.

Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers on Jan. 16 made a decision to sign an agreement on delaying the repayment and servicing of loans involved in the cooperation of governments of Ukraine and Japan.
