US envoy blasts Russia's World War III threats
Stoking fears of WW III is an unfortunate, reckless comment by Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev and unfitting of a world power, US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg claimed on X on May 28.
His remarks came in response to Medvedev’s outburst, triggered by Donald Trump’s rare jab at Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Trump had belatedly accused Putin of fueling the war and warned that he is “playing with fire”.
“Spreading fear of a global war is a disgraceful and irresponsible move on Medvedev’s part,” Kellogg wrote.
He noted that US President Donald Trump is actively working to end the war in Ukraine and save lives. According to him, the United States has already received a list of peace terms from Kyiv and is waiting for a similar document from Moscow.
He also urged Russia to implement an immediate ceasefire - a call that remained unheeded, highlighting the absence of meaningful pressure on Russia.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
