Shortly after visiting the border guards defending the country on the Eastern frontline, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Ukraine’s border with Belarus and Poland in Volyn Oblast on April 19.
“During a working trip to Volyn Oblast, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the border area of the three states: Ukraine, the Republic of Poland, and the Republic of Belarus,” the Presidential Office said on Telegram.

Zelenskyy thanked border guards for keeping the borderland safe.

“Volyn – Ukraine’s border with Belarus and Poland,” he wrote on Telegram.
“It is an honor for me to be here today to thank our border guards for protecting the state border.”
He emphasized that Ukrainian border guards were playing a major role in the fighting in Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, protecting the country’s eastern borders.
During his trip to Volyn Oblast, Zelenskyy held a meeting to discuss equipping and protecting the state border, as well as the social, economic, and security situation in the region. He also addressed questions related to fortification and defense engineering structures.
“Heard reports on the situation in the area of responsibility of the Volyn operational group of troops and military units’ readiness to perform tasks, as well as on measures to strengthen the state border within Volyn Oblast,” the president said.
