Ukraine is constructing a reinforced wall along the Belarusian border, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko said in a Telegram post on Nov. 11.

Tymoshenko shared photos of the wall that’s being built in Ukraine’s Volyn, Rivne, and Zhytomyr oblasts.

“While in the south our people are greeting our troops, in the north other kind work is in full swing – here we are building a wall on the border with Belarus,” said Tymoshenko.

“A trench, an embankment, and a reinforced concrete fence with barbed wire – these are the engineering barriers that are being built in Volyn.”

He noted that 3 kilometers of the border has already been fortified, with further work underway in the regions bordering Russia.

“We all want security and we are doing everything we can to prevent even a hypothetical enemy advance,” he concluded.

Ukraine’s General Staff previously warned of the growing threat of another Russian invasion from the territory of Belarus, which would likely attempt to cut off vital military and civilian supply lines in western Ukraine.
