Winter to force Russian tactical shifts on Donbas front - National Guard Brigade
Winter climate conditions in the Donbas will prevent Russian troops from using scooters and motorcycles on the battlefield, Volodymyr Nazarenko, head of artillery reconnaissance in Rubizh National Guard's 4th Brigade said on national television.
He discussed the shift in enemy tactics as cold weather sets in.
Winter in the Donbas brings fog, poor visibility, and daytime temperatures just above zero, which cause everything to thaw and turn the roads into mud, especially after heavy military equipment passes through. At night, the ground freezes over and is coated with ice.
"You won’t be riding scooters in these conditions," he highlighted.
“The enemy is focusing on small groups and relying on manpower - they will attempt to gather and move on foot.”
Enemy will be targeted with FPV drones, mortars, grenade launchers, and artillery, Nazarenko assured.
“The Russian forces will continue to suffer losses.”
The officer also highlighted that winter warfare means dealing with extremely harsh living conditions.
On Oct. 24, analysts from the DeepState project reported that Russian invaders advanced in Selydove, Kostiantynivka, Izmailivka, and near Bohoyavlenka in Donetsk Oblast.
