Russian assault rate drops in January, Pokrovsk remains main target - DeepState

Russian assault intensity on the frontline begins to decline, though it still remains high, DeepState monitoring group wrote on Jan. 28.

44% of all Russian assaults in January took place in the Pokrovsk sector. The Kursk direction accounted for 13% of attacks, and the Lyman sector saw 10%.

174 combat engagements between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops were reported on Jan. 28 alone. The enemy launched 75 attacks on the Pokrovsk sector alone.

Earlier, Viktor Trehubov, Khortytsia operational-strategic grouping spokesperson, stated that Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast remains the primary focus of Russian forces, as they attempt to encircle the city from the west.

Evacuation efforts for locals are becoming increasingly difficult due to the ongoing hostilities, Pokrovsk Military Administration head, Serhii Dobryak, added.
