Lviv under attack: 15 Russian drones spark city fire
Russia launched about 15 Shahed drones toward Lviv overnight, the city’s mayor Andriy Sadovyi said on Telegram on Sept. 3.
According to officials, no casualties were reported from the attack. One warehouse in the city was partially destroyed, but the fire there has been extinguished.
District administrations are continuing inspections across the city.
“Thanks to our air defense forces, who once again did the impossible to protect Lviv,” the statement said.
Overnight on Sept. 3, Russia attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles. Explosions were heard in Kyiv, western oblasts, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi, and elsewhere. In Kirovohrad Oblast, railway infrastructure was damaged, leaving five people injured and causing major train delays.
In Khmelnytskyi Oblast, fires broke out at civilian infrastructure, while in Kyiv drone debris was recorded falling overnight.
In Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, an infrastructure site was hit, sparking a massive fire across three warehouse areas covering about 9,000 square meters. The blaze has since been contained.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
