18 injured as Russian drones and missile hit Odesa

Eighteen people were injured in a large-scale Russian attack on Odesa overnight on April 30, causing widespread destruction and multiple fires across the city, the State Emergency Service said.
Fires broke out in apartments in both a five-story and a 17-story residential building following the strikes. Blazes also erupted in private homes, a hotel, warehouses, and administrative and educational buildings, emergency officials said.
Dozens of buses and passenger vehicles were destroyed or damaged in parking areas and courtyards, while garages and outbuildings were set ablaze, the agency said.
More than 200 emergency responders and 48 pieces of equipment were deployed to deal with the aftermath, the State Emergency Service said.
A 17-year-old was among the injured, regional military administration head Serhii Lysak said earlier. The heaviest damage was recorded in the Prymorskyi district, while infrastructure facilities were hit in the Khadzhibey district, he said.
Explosions were heard across Odesa overnight, with reports of strikes on residential buildings and a kindergarten.
Russia attacked Ukraine with a ballistic missile and 206 drones overnight, of which 172 were intercepted by air defenses, the Air Force said.
