Drone strike on Kharkiv injures five, including children

Russian forces struck the Industrialnyi district of Kharkiv with drones on the evening of May 9, injuring at least five people, including two children.
Oleh Syniehubov said one of the Russian drones hit the technical floor of a nine-story residential building.
Emergency services responded to the scene and are working to deal with the aftermath of the attack.
An 8-year-old boy suffered an acute stress reaction following the strike, regional authorities said. Another 8-year-old boy was later also diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the attack damaged the building’s elevator shaft and shattered around 30 windows.
Doctors diagnosed all of the injured victims with acute stress reactions, according to regional officials.
Ukraine’s Air Force had earlier warned about Russian drones moving toward Kharkiv from the north.
The attack came amid a three-day ceasefire agreed upon by Ukraine and Russia through U.S. mediation. Despite the arrangement, Russian forces had violated the ceasefire 51 times on the frontline as of 4 p.m. on May 9, Ukrainian officials said.
Earlier the same day, Russian forces attacked a vehicle with an FPV drone in the Polohy district of Zaporizhzhya Oblast, killing a 67-year-old man. A 62-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were injured and hospitalized.
