Russian drone strikes apartment roof in Kharkiv

Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with drones overnight on Aug. 1-2, striking the Industrialnyi, Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts. At least three people were affected.
A Russian drone hit the roof of a multistory apartment building in Kharkiv’s Saltivskyi district, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
No one was injured in that strike, he added.
Several strikes were recorded in the Industrialnyi district, Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.
A 74-year-old man, an 8-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy suffered acute stress reactions following the attack. Medical personnel provided them with the necessary care.
A Russian Molniya drone later struck the Kyivskyi district, Terekhov said. Authorities were still assessing the consequences.
The attack followed a Russian strike on a Kharkiv warehouse used by the Ranok publishing house and the KnyhoLand bookstore chain on Aug. 1.
The strike destroyed about 600,000 textbooks and other books with a combined print run of roughly 8 million copies.
The attack caused an estimated UAH 1 billion in damage, Ranok Director Viktor Kruhlov said.
