Russian troops drink puddle water on Kherson front as logistics collapse
Russian soldiers fighting on the Kherson front have been left without drinking water and are resorting to collecting filthy water from roadside puddles, the Butusov Plus Telegram channel reported on May 30.
The report described the situation as dire, noting that Russian troops are filling used plastic water bottles with dirty puddle water and drinking it due to a complete breakdown in supply lines.
“There are no deliveries, and commanders treat soldiers like disposable materials,” the post read.
In a grim aside, the report also said that Russian troops in another sector expressed envy toward a fellow soldier who lost his foot in combat — seeing it as a rare chance to return home alive and qualify for financial compensation.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
