Ukraine neutralizes 279 drones and five missiles overnight

Russia attacked Ukraine overnight on May 30, starting from 6 p.m. on May 29, with one Iskander-M ballistic missile, six Kh-101 cruise missiles and 290 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and Parodiya drones, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.
Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 284 targets — five Kh-101 missiles and 279 drones — over the north, south, center and east of the country.
The attack resulted in nine Shahed drone hits at seven locations, while debris fell in 10 areas. Two Russian missiles — one cruise missile and one ballistic missile — failed to reach their targets, according to the Air Force.
The Russian drone attack was still ongoing as of 9 a.m., the Air Force warned.
Russia launched cruise and ballistic missiles toward Kyiv Oblast on the evening of May 29, with explosions heard in the capital. The Kyiv Oblast Military Administration reported a combined attack but did not specify the consequences.
Drone attacks were reported in several regions overnight. Homes and an outpatient clinic were damaged in the Poltava district, where two people were injured.
Russian drone strikes were also reported in Zaporizhzhya and Sumy Oblast.
