Poland planning Europe’s biggest airport

In August 2025, Poland approved the terminal design for the Solidarity Transport Hub, officially named the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK), a mega-project to build a new airport and high-speed rail hub 40 km from Warsaw in Baranów, Mazovia. Aiming to serve 100 million passengers annually, it could become Europe’s largest airport. Construction begins in 2026, with the first phase, including the Warsaw-Lodz high-speed rail, set to open by 2032.
