The complication is that the Patriot manufacturer already has a queue of buyers from other countries. But the White House could reorder the delivery schedule by reallocating priorities from European countries that might give Ukraine precedence.
“Those 25 systems we will receive each year, in varying numbers in different years," the president said.
"There is more positive in this matter — we are working now to get the necessary decisions,” the president said.
It is expected that the funds to buy the Patriots will come from using frozen Russian assets; the financial framework for this deal has already been worked out, he added.
In his Washington visit on Oct. 17, Zelenskyy met with representatives of Raytheon defense company, which manufactures Patriot systems. They discussed production capacity and ways of cooperation.
