Ukrainian air defense neutralized 95 of 115 Russian-launched drones in a mass overnight assault, though 18 strike UAVs breached defenses to hit 11 different locations, Air Force reported on Feb. 25.

Russian forces launched the 115-unit swarm — Shaheds, Gerberas, Italmaz, and other drone types — from launch sites in Bryansk, Kursk, and occupied Donetsk.

The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare (EW) units, and mobile fire groups. Preliminary data indicated that 95 enemy drones were either shot down or suppressed across the northern, southern, and eastern oblasts.

Breaching the line

Despite the high interception rate, 18 strike UAVs impacted 11 separate locations. As of the morning, several Russian drones remained active in Ukrainian airspace, maintaining the threat of further strikes.

Air raid sirens sounded across multiple oblasts throughout the night. In Mykolaiv, residents reported a series of powerful explosions as the city came under direct attack. The full extent of the damage and potential casualties at the 11 impact sites is now being assessed.
