Underground group says it infiltrated Russia’s Alabuga drone production site

The website briefly displayed a message from the underground group Black Spark, which claimed it had “infiltrated drone production.”

“We worked inside the system for several months. During that time, we downloaded a database containing information on all employees, their relatives, addresses, supply chains and more,” The Insider quoted the message as saying.

Black Spark also confirmed the claim on its Telegram channel.

The group said it had embedded undisclosed “surprises” in recently assembled drones, claiming they would explode when operators attempted to launch them.

The claims could not be independently verified.

The group described the alleged breach as a response to the involvement of 15-year-old children in assembling lethal drones.

Alabuga is a special economic zone in Russia and a major production site for Geran drones, Russia’s version of Iranian-designed Shahed drones, as well as Gerbera drones.

The site is located near Yelabuga in Tatarstan and covers an area of about 4,000 hectares.
