A series of explosions rocked the city of Arzamas in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, with local sources claiming drone attack on the facility, Mash Telegram channel wrote early on Aug. 11.
The first blasts occurred around 3:55 a.m. MSK.
Witnesses said they heard three loud “pops” followed by one powerful explosion. Some claim they saw at least five drones flying at low altitude.
Another Telegram channel SHOT reported between four and seven explosions in the city. Later, videos appeared online allegedly showing a strike on the Arzamas Instrument-Building Plant (APZ).
Morning footage showed a fire on the plant’s territory, though later reports said the blaze had been extinguished.
The Arzamas Instrument-Building Plant produces equipment for the aviation and space industries, as well as civilian products.
