The deadly strike in Kramatorsk follows a massive overnight aerial assault across the country. In the early hours of April 26, the Russian military launched 144 strike drones—including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas models—from six different directions.

Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed 124 of the drones. However, 19 drones struck targets at 11 separate locations, and falling debris was recorded at six additional sites across Ukraine.
