Multiple apartment buildings were damaged in the attack, and the final toll and extent of destruction are still being determined, Filashkin added.
“Russian forces once again deliberately struck a peaceful city and killed children. This is deliberate terror against our people. For every life destroyed, for every home ruined, they will be held accountable,” he wrote.
A separate Russian drone attack struck the Voskresenske community in Mykolaiv Oblast on March 28, leaving 10 people injured at a public recreation area, regional governor Vitalii Kim said.
A 13-year-old girl later died in the hospital from her injuries, he added.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched a Kinzhal aeroballistic missile and 442 attack drones overnight into March 29.
Strikes by 16 drones were recorded across seven locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell in 14 locations, the Air Force said.
