The cost of basic military training for a soldier in a state training center over 1.5 months is 200,000 hryvnias ($4,821), the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told NV.
The cost includes ammunition, uniforms, munitions, fuel, food, and other expenses.
Additionally, acquiring a specialized skill, such as becoming a machine gunner or grenade launcher operator, costs an additional 100,000 hryvnias ($2,411). Therefore, the total cost of training a soldier with such specialized skills amounts to 300,000 hryvnias ($7,232).
Starting from Nov. 1, all training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have transitioned to a basic military training program with a duration of 1.5 months.
