Russia hits Chernihiv businesses in massive drone, missile attack

Chernihiv came under a massive Russian attack on Aug. 3, with several businesses in the city struck, according to Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration.

Russian forces have been continuously attacking the city with drones and Banderol missiles since 6 a.m. The first explosions were heard around 6:30 a.m.

Ukraine's Air Force had earlier reported Banderol missiles moving toward Chernihiv from the east. At 11:05 a.m., the Air Force warned of a drone in northern Chernihiv Oblast heading west.

One person suffered shrapnel wounds in the attack, and a fire broke out at the site of one strike, according to officials. Further details are being confirmed.

On July 26, Russia struck an ATB supermarket in Chernihiv with a jet-powered drone guided via video link, killing two people, including a 10-year-old girl. Two additional drones struck a car repair shop and a warehouse in that attack, bringing the total number of injured to 25.
