The Novozavodskyi District Court in Chernihiv almost certainly used an artificial intelligence product to edit one of its rulings, Ukrainian NGO Human Rights Platform (HRP) reported on Dec. 4.

The HRP pointed to a ruling issued by the court on Oct. 17, publicly accessible via Ukraine’s Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

According to the report, the telltale sign was the line: “Here’s the revised and edited version of your text with corrections to grammatical, stylistic, and punctuation errors.”

“This suggestion is a typical AI assistant response,” the HRP said.

The ruling itself was on an administrative case regarding public performance of Russian-language music in Chernihiv.

In October, it emerged that the Lithuanian band Transportna, which performed songs in Ukrainian and went viral on YouTube, was entirely an AI project.
