The minister made the report during a meeting in Brussels, as reported by news agency Ceske Noviny.
The war in Ukraine was the first topic discussed by the foreign ministers of European Union member states at an informal meeting.
Prague announced that, thanks to the Czech initiative, Ukraine would receive 100,000 artillery rounds in July and August. Overall, up to 500,000 shells could be delivered to Ukraine by the end of 2024.
At the same time, Lipavský noted that the West needs to do more to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses.
“Regarding ammunition, the promise is being fulfilled,” the minister said.
“It is now more about efforts to ensure air defense. The situation is difficult because there are few air defense systems, and everyone is protecting theirs to maintain the ability to defend their own airspace.”
Earlier on Aug. 29, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba spoke about a "gap" between the announcement of military aid and its actual arrival, particularly concerning the valuable Patriot air defense systems.
