Death toll rises after Jan. 27 drone attack on Odesa

“Unfortunately, the death of a fourth person as a result of the Jan. 27 drone attack on Odesa has been confirmed,” he wrote.

During the night of Jan. 27, Russian occupying forces launched a massive attack on Odesa with more than 50 attack drones. Dozens of residential buildings, a church, a kindergarten, a lyceum, a fitness center and private vehicles were damaged in the city. Large fires broke out at several locations.
Earlier, rescuers found the bodies of three people killed under the rubble of a building destroyed by the Russian strike. In connection with the tragedy, Jan. 28 was declared a day of mourning in the city. Twenty-five people were also injured in the attack.
Energy company DTEK said the Russian army carried out a repeat strike on an energy facility in Odesa, causing “colossal destruction.”
