Situation in Donetsk Oblast
On Jan. 24, Ukraine’s 7th Air Assault Corps said the 147th Separate Artillery Brigade stopped a group of Russian troops near an industrial zone in northwestern Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast. As a result of the strikes, three Russian soldiers were wounded, and the enemy did not attempt to evacuate them.
The same day, the DeepState monitoring project reported that Russian forces had advanced near Predtechyne and Stupochky in Donetsk Oblast.
On Jan. 20, DeepState said Russian troops had advanced near Rodynske and Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast.
On Jan. 19, the 7th Air Assault Corps said Ukraine’s Defense Forces were continuing to hold back Russian occupiers in Pokrovsk, where small enemy groups are trying to infiltrate the northern part of the city and establish positions.
That same day, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said Russian forces were moving reserves toward Pokrovsk and looking for opportunities to break through Ukraine’s defenses.
On Jan. 8, Syrskyi said Ukraine’s Defense Forces controlled the northern part of Pokrovsk and were stopping Russian advances in Myrnohrad.
