Speaking to Suspilne on the morning of Dec. 15, SBU spokeswoman Olga Kim reported that the two injured officers remain in serious condition, though doctors noted signs of improvement.
"Both officers underwent surgery and have been extubated. Their condition is stable, and they are conscious," Kim stated.
Details of the Dec. 14 attack
The explosion occurred at the intersection of Stepana Bandery Street and Lesi Ukrainky Avenue in Dnipro. One man was killed, and four others were injured, including two police officers.
The SBU classified the incident as a terrorist act under Article 258, Part 3, of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.
Later that evening, police officers and SBU operatives detained a 37-year-old suspect near one of Dnipro’s administrative buildings. Investigators allege the individual acted on orders from Russian intelligence services.
According to RBC-Ukraine, citing law enforcement sources, the suspect has been identified as Ruben Voskanyan. He reportedly detonated a homemade explosive device.
