Historic Dovzhenko Film Studios hit again in Russian overnight bombardment
Nation7 October, 12:10 PM
"Another difficult night and a morning of bad news. A massive missile attack damaged our three-pavilion complex," studio staff stated.
No fatalities or injuries were reported among studio employees. Emergency rescue crews from the State Emergency Service (SES) arrived at the scene overnight and contained a large blaze that erupted across the roof of the landmark three-pavilion facility.
Oct. 7 strike continues a pattern of repeated damage inflicted on Ukraine’s premier film production complex. The facility first suffered blast damage in July 2025. In the summer of 2026, the studio grounds were struck twice within a two-week span, on June 2 and June 15. The earlier bombardment completely destroyed the studio’s central costume department, obliterating Ukraine's largest and oldest historical costume archive.
Oct. 7 Mass Combined Strike on Ukraine
Overnight into Oct. 7, Russian forces executed a coordinated mass bombardment across Ukraine utilizing ground-based ballistic missiles, sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles, air-launched missiles fired from strategic bombers, and waves of strike drones.
In Pryluky, Chernihiv Oblast, a Russian missile hit on a multi-story residential building. By 10:00 a.m., local emergency officials confirmed four people were killed and 20 others injured, including four children.
Powerful explosions and emergency responses were also reported across Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhya, and Kremenchuk.
