Russian-occupied Crimea came under a drone attack overnight on July 18, with explosions and a fire reported at the Hvardiiske airfield.
More than 20 explosions were heard near the airfield, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported. Local residents also reported secondary detonations and a glow in the sky near Hvardiiske.
An explosion was heard across several districts of Sevastopol, local residents said. The Balaklava Thermal Power Plant may also have been targeted.
Explosions were also reported in Feodosia and Kerch.
Hvardiiske is one of Russia’s key military airfields in occupied Crimea. It is used to host tactical and naval aviation, support combat missions and provide logistics and maintenance for military aircraft.
The airfield was previously reported under attack on July 5.
