Authorities in Bashkortostan had earlier announced a drone threat, implementing the “Kover” emergency air-defense procedure at Ufa Airport. Russia’s aviation authority later said the temporary flight restrictions were lifted.
Drones also attacked Russia’s Volgograd overnight into Oct. 15. Locals reported a strike on an oil refinery there.
According to Reuters, Russian oil product exports fell 17.1% in September compared to August due to drone attacks, totaling 7.58 million tons.
On Oct. 11, an informed SBU Security Service source told NV that long-range drones from the Special Operations Center A hit the Bashneft-UNPZ refinery in Ufa, over 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine.
That marked the third SBU deep strike in Bashkortostan in the past month. On Sept. 18, SBU drones struck the Gazprom Neftokhim Salavat plant. On Sept. 24, the Special Operations Center A’s drones hit the same facility again — one of Russia’s largest.
