Explosions shake Russia's Saratov, airport suspends operations

Explosions were heard in the Russian city of Saratov, located 700 km from the Ukraine border, leading to the suspension of airport operations and triggering air raid alarms, Center for Countering Disinformation head Andriy Kovalenko wrote on Nov. 11.

He indicated a possible drone strike in his Telegram post.

"Something hit Saratov,” he wrote.

Saratov governor, Roman Busargin, issued warnings about the potential danger of drone attacks. Russian public sources confirmed that the local airport ceased operations following the incident.

On Nov. 8, Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) reportedly launched a drone attack targeting an oil refinery in Saratov. Local media claimed drones striking one of the refinery’s units and fuel storage tanks.
