Drones strike occupied Donetsk overnight, triggering explosions and fire

Drones attacked occupied Donetsk, triggering several explosions and a fire, local Telegram channels reported early on July 1.

Several explosions rang out in the occupied city, and a fire broke out at the site of the strike.

Exilenova+ Telegram channel reported that a parking lot for the occupiers' transport was likely hit.

Representatives of the occupational authorities have not yet provided information regarding the attack consequences.

In April, Azov National Guard's 1st Corps reported that strike drone pilots were controlling Russian logistical routes near temporarily occupied Donetsk. In particular, Ukrainian UAVs are actively operating in Zuhres, Andriivka, Starobesheve, Horlivka, Lysychansk, and on the Donetsk bypass road.

In May, an officer from the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Azov 1st Corps told Radio NV that battalions are responsible for the line of combat contact, brigades have the means to control 50 to 70 kilometers from the front line, and controlling the 70 to 150-kilometer zone is the task of the corps.

On June 3, 3rd Army Corps stated that as part of an operation to destroy Russian rear logistics, fighters from the 3rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion's strike drone unit hit trucks, GAZelles, and armored vehicles in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

On June 4, the 28th Mechanized Brigade reported that pilots from its Spalakh UAV unit had taken temporarily occupied Horlivka in Donetsk Oblast under fire control.
