Drone attack sparks fire across Ust-Luga port zone in Leningrad Oblast - video

The governor added that defense forces were actively attempting to repel the incoming drone waves.

"Damage has been recorded across the Ust-Luga port zone following a UAV attack, resulting in a fire," the official statement read.

"Emergency response units are operating on site. Information regarding the extent of the damage is being clarified. Air defense operations remain underway."

On Aug. 14, uncrewed aerial vehicles struck the port of Ust-Luga, triggering a blaze.

In late March, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed that Ukrainian long-range strike drones successfully hit oil terminal infrastructure inside the port of Ust-Luga in Russia's Leningrad Oblast. Satellite imagery corroborated intense, prolonged fires at both the Primorsk and Ust-Luga port complexes.

Following the series of deep strikes, Russian ports along the Baltic Sea saw crude oil shipment volumes plummet to their lowest levels since the launch of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Bloomberg reported.

On April 5, Bloomberg reported that Ust-Luga had begun resuming crude exports at minimum operational capacity following a multi-day shutdown.

On April 7, AFU General Staff confirmed a renewed strike against the port of Ust-Luga, reporting direct hits on three storage tanks.
