Debris found across four districts of Moldova after series of explosions

Fragments of UAVs were found in the Căușeni, Ștefan Vodă, Hâncești and Anenii Noi districts. No deaths or injuries were reported.
Police in Căușeni received the first report at around 7:50 a.m. Residents reported an explosion outside the city, where thick smoke could be seen.
Officers arriving at the scene discovered fragments of a drone.
A vegetation fire was also reported near the village of Constantinovca in Căușeni District.
Additional drone debris was later discovered near the village of Dubovca and the city of Hâncești, as well as between the villages of Delacău and Puhăceni in Anenii Noi District.
Another incident was reported near the village of Crocmaz in Ștefan Vodă District.
An explosion occurred in a vineyard near an agricultural facility, sparking a vegetation fire and shattering windows in the building.
Police teams are working at the locations and documenting the incidents. Authorities have not yet established all the circumstances or publicly identified the drones.
Residents have been urged to stay away from the affected areas and not to approach or touch suspicious objects or debris.
The incidents occurred as Russia carried out another large-scale drone attack against neighboring Ukraine, including Odesa Oblast, which borders Moldova.
Ukraine’s Air Force warned during the attack of jet-powered drones and Banderol-type munitions operating in the direction of Odesa Oblast.
Russian aerial attacks against Ukraine have repeatedly resulted in drones entering or crashing in Moldova.
On Sept. 30, a drone crashed and exploded near Hîrbovăț in Moldova’s Anenii Noi District after flying at low altitude near Bender.
The explosion damaged a communications antenna belonging to a civilian operator. Investigators found fragments from the drone’s structure, control, power and propulsion systems scattered around the site.
Another drone exploded near Brănești in Orhei District later the same day. Moldovan authorities said fragments recovered there were characteristic of newer Russian Geran drones equipped with turbojet engines.
Moldova temporarily restricted parts of its airspace during the Sept. 30 incidents.
Moldovan authorities have recorded repeated violations of the country’s airspace since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with drone and missile debris found in several parts of the country.
